What are packaging machine blades?

In this product family, the blade is the serrated cutting part used to separate adhesive tape after a carton or package has been sealed. It is a packaging-machine knife, not a plastic crusher knife or a general circular slitting knife.

A serrated edge is used where the machine cuts adhesive tape. Tooth pitch and edge orientation must match the cutter position.

Possible grades include 65Mn, 9CrSi, Cr12MoV, SKD-11, SKH-51, 3Cr13, 9Cr18, SUS440C, 420J2 and W6Mo5Cr4V2. Confirm the applicable grade before production.

Sharpness and tooth form

Confirm tooth pitch, tooth depth, edge direction, tooth termination and mounting orientation from the old knife or approved drawing.

The material list is an option set for industrial blade review, not a statement that every grade fits every packaging machine. The final material, heat treatment and edge finish should be recorded with the confirmed drawing or sample.

Common fitment questions before ordering serrated carton-sealer blades.

Are these blades for plastic crushers?

No. This page is for serrated packaging-machine blades used mainly to cut adhesive tape in carton sealing and case-taping equipment. Plastic crusher knives have different machine roles and mounting requirements.

Can I order by the length alone?

No. Length must be checked with width, thickness, tooth pitch, tooth depth, hole or slot geometry, centre spacing and cutter-holder orientation.

Are 10 mm and 15 mm widths interchangeable?

No. They are separate reference groups with different hole references and listed lengths. Confirm the original blade and holder before selecting a group.

What does 3 × 8 or 7 × 10 mean in the parameter table?

These are the mounting-hole references shown in the supplied parameter drawings. The exact hole form, size and layout should be verified from the drawing or old knife before production.

Can you make a non-standard serrated blade?

Custom length, width, thickness, tooth form and mounting details can be reviewed from a drawing, sample or clear marked photos. Final acceptance depends on complete fitment information.

Which material should I choose?

That depends on the tape, adhesive, cutting frequency, speed, edge requirement and machine environment. Share the cutting duty so the material and heat-treatment route can be reviewed together.
